Memory Support

Things that effect human memory have fascinated me for twenty-five years. This led to scientific papers on causes and treatments of delirium after cataract surgery or heart surgery. This interest led to a classic theory paper on the causes of Alzheimer's disease. My curiosity ultimately led to tacrine (Cognex(r)), the first FDA-approved drug for Alzheimer's disease. Although tacrine is not often used today, it did lead to a paradigm shift. People began to believe that "something" could be done about Alzheimer's.

Recently, literature concerning the role aging and "oxidative injury" to the brain has been increasing. This includes disorders such as Parkinson's disease, benign memory difficulties of aging, and even Alzheimer's disease. Oxidative injury to aging brains is a hot topic at annual meetings of the Society of Neuroscience. This is a basic science organization, where the subjects were rats and hamsters . In human research these results have attracted little attention.

Oh yes, there was the famous study that showed favorable results with high doses vitamin E. Many doctors began suggesting this monotherapy along with the standard FDA drugs. Ginkgo Biloba has also had some favorable human research. So people began to use Ginkgo with or without the approval of their physician. The drug companies have remained quiet. They did not sponsor studies. Some major drug companies buy controlling interest in health supplement companies. About two years ago I asked the question, "What if I produced a high quality neuroceutical? What would be the ideal ingredients?" Armed with this question, I began to research.

"Memory Support" is the answer to this question. This high potency combination neuroceutical is produced for Alzheimer's Corporation in Canada. It is now available. It contains more than thirty active components. "Memory Support" is unique enough that a patent application has been filed with the US Patent and Trademark Administration.

The components of "Memory Support" are divided into four basic elements. First it is a potent general vitamin, so additional general vitamins need not be taken. Second, "Memory Support" is a uniquely potent antioxidant. Oxidative damage to nerve cells occurs at several locations. Vitamin E addresses oxidative injury only at a single location inside the cell (the mitochondria). Vitamin C, in contrast, principally addresses oxidative injury in the water-soluble areas outside the nerve cell. "Memory Support" addresses oxidative injury at all major areas inside and outside the nerve cell. This combination includes herbal antioxidants such as bioflavonoids, coenzyme Q10, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, Gotu Kola, grape pip and Quercetin. In addition, four essential antioxidant amino acids are in the formulation. These help repair injury deep inside the nerve cell. Mineral antioxidants are another class of antioxidants. Memory Support includes minerals such as selenium, manganese, magnesium and zinc. Third, "Memory Support" contains elements know to directly improve memory. These elements include phosphatidylcholine (Lecithin), and phosphatidylserine. These are phospho-mono-ester compounds. They enhance communication between cholinergic type nerve cells. Phospho-mono-ester compounds also help in the general repair and maintenance of nerve cell membranes. These effects are enhanced by alpha lipoic acid, dimethyl amino ethanol (DMAE), Gotu Kola, Ginkgo Biloba, and coenzyme Q10. Testing is now underway to confirm that Memory Support can actually sharpen the memory of normal people. Fourth, Memory Support is an adaptogine or energine. This means that Memory Support has a quality of helping the body adapt to stress and fatigue. It gives energy when needed. Paradoxically adaptogine compounds have a sedative effect when the body requires sleep. The most important component here is Ginseng. Gotu Kola, DMAE, Phosphatidylcholine and Ginkgo Biloba also have adaptogine/energine properties.

In the initial sample of the "Memory Support", I was the guinea pig. I noticed memory effects, but frankly have taken antioxidants and memory enhancing supplements for years. I also found strikingly enhanced energy. I was able to complete my duties as a private physician for eight hours a day. I also worked on the business of Alzheimer's Corporation for six to eight additional hours per day with good focus. Since sales of Memory Support began in January, many users have reported these positive observations. The negative reports have been two in type. One person had an allergic skin rash. Five people have reported upset stomachs. Where explored this proved to be a tip off of a problem in the stomach or small bowel. In one case the upset stomach lead to being treated for an ulcer. In another the patient was treated for gastroesophageal reflux syndrome. So taking the neuroceutical helped two people even when side effects were found.

As time goes by there will be more combination antiaging health supplements. "Memory Support" should prove to be a classic pioneer in this field.
